Born in Kundapura, a small coastal town in Karnataka, Shine arrived in Bengaluru with nothing but raw ambition and the hunger to create. What followed is a journey marked by reinvention, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of craft.
Where it Started

The Performer with Purpose
Shine first captured attention as a charismatic television host — known for his ease, warmth, and natural presence.
But his true calling was acting.
He stepped into the world of fiction with lead roles in beloved Kannada serials like “Meera Madhava” and “Lakshmi Baramma.” His performances weren’t just watched — they were felt, making him a familiar face and a fan favorite.
He went on to carve his space in cinema through films like “Ondu Motteya Kathe,” “Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale, Kasaragodu,” “KA,” “Rang,” and “Kudla Café.” Each role added another brushstroke to his evolving canvas as an actor of depth and range.

Shine’s story isn’t only about the spotlight. It’s also about the hustle in between.
When he took a break from television to pursue films, he didn’t wait around for the next opportunity. Instead, he started a small food cart, built from an auto, serving piping hot South Indian meals to late-night wanderers and hungry dreamers.
What began as a humble street cart quickly became one of Bengaluru’s most loved food trucks — eventually evolving into two successful restaurant outlets under the name Galli Kitchen.
This phase of Shine’s life is a testament to who he truly is: a doer, a builder, a dreamer with fire in his belly. Whether it’s art or enterprise, Shine brings the same authenticity, heart, and hustle.

The Hustle Behind the Scenes

The Rise to Stardom
In 2020, Shine's popularity soared when he won Bigg Boss Kannada. His honesty, humor, and humility connected with millions. It wasn’t just a win — it was a moment that marked his arrival as a cultural icon in Karnataka.
Then came “James” (2022), a landmark film alongside the legendary Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar, which was the biggest box office hit.
He followed it up with a pivotal role in “Kantara” — one of the most celebrated Indian films of the decade. Shine proved that he wasn’t just part of great stories — he could elevate them.
Building Ranggasthala
Studios
Today, Shine is stepping into his most ambitious role yet — as the founder and creative force behind Ranggasthala Studios.
Ranggasthala is not just a production house. It’s a cultural movement.
A platform for rooted Indian stories to be told with global sensibilities. A space for misfits, creators, artisans, and new voices.
It’s Shine’s way of giving back to the craft that gave him everything — and building a stage for the next generation of storytellers.

I never wanted just a role in someone else's script. I wanted to write new ones. For those who were told they couldn't. Ranggasthala is that script.
